A Camp for All Ages

About Us

Since 1948, Tanako has been providing programs that give children, youth, and adults unique experiences that shape and expand Christian commitment. Campers will grow in faith through small group discussion, music, drama, arts & crafts, recreation, and worship. Participants leave knowing that they are valued children of God and can enter communities renewed, inspired, and dedicated to faithful discipleship. We look forward to serving you in the near future.

Why Tanako?

Camp Tanako is an all-too-rare treasure among Christian camps.  Tanako offers the classic summer camp experience as a tool for growing faith in young people. Kayak, canoe, sing, swim, worship, cook out, hike, and experience the challenge course all while learning about God’s love for us.  Horse programs are offered, and older campers have exciting opportunities to travel off-site on trips to experience amazing wilderness areas in Arkansas and beyond!

Day Camp

Camp Tanako is excited to offer a  Day Camp program for families in our local mission field!  A week long program that runs for ten weeks over the summer, ideal for children who are beyond the age of the baby-sitter but are not ready to be home by themselves.  This camp is a special experience that gives your camper the opportunity to be outside playing and learning about God’s creation.

  • Mission Tanako

The walk to Emmaus is an experience of Christian spiritual renewal and formation that begins with a three-day short course in Christianity. It is an opportunity to meet Jesus Christ in a new way as God’s grace and love is revealed to you through other believers. The Walk to Emmaus experience begins with the prayerful discernment and invitation from a sponsor.  After one accepts this invitation they complete an application.  The Emmaus leaders prayerfully consider each applicant and in God’s time, the person is invited to attend a three-day experience of New Testament Christianity as a lifestyle.

If you are going to be in the 10-12 grades and would like to provide leadership for younger Tanako campers, here is your opportunity! Join us for a weekend of training to prepare you to be a Tanako CIT. Learn about this summer’s curriculum, develop your leadership skills, explore recreation choices and practice your interviewing skills. If you are planning to be a CIT this summer, you must attend this training.

Campers young and old are invited out to Tanako to spend the week in mission work. A couple of options are available for your group. Option 1 includes your group doing missions projects here at the camp to do some “Spring Cleaning” and helping the camp prepare for Summer, while paying for lodging option 1 provides snacks and meals to be provided by the camp.
